Corse: Cytochrome

I'm pleased to announce the arrival of some new music from Corse: Cytochrome is a 3-track EP we recorded a good while back but only just now got around to releasing. I would say it's some of the coolest stuff we've ever recorded. Check out the stream from Bandcamp below, courtesy of Samizdat Records:

Flicker State Mini-Tour w/ Grand Theft Bus

I'm happy to announce that Flicker State will be supporting Grand Theft Bus on their fall CD release tour. The Bus' new album, entitled Say It With Me, is out on August 28th, and is sounding pretty darn good, based on the teasers they've put out so far. Grand Theft Bus are, incidentally, the band from my hometown of Fredericton, NB, which provided much of the soundtrack to my early years of gaining "creative" access to local bars, and learning about what tequila is.

Flicker State will be on support duties for the following dates:

Wednesday, August 29th - Casa del Popolo, Montreal

Friday, September 1st - Rivoli, Toronto

Saturday, September 2nd - Mavericks, Ottawa.

Looking forward to catching up with the boys, and seeing some friends out on the road!

And now for something completely different

So I had the pleasure of playing drums with my pals Hexes & Ohs the other night at Bar l'Escogriffe. Quite a different scene from the previous weekend at Mutek! Here's a clip of our unrehearsed encore, a cover of All Apologies:

Tepid Spring

Here's a new short video made by Corse's trumpet man, Philippe Battikha, with a soundtrack by the band. The footage was taken at the Banff hot springs one evening in February, when the water was... not so hot.

Pre-Pamplemousse tune from 2005

Haven't heard this song in a while... this is from before the formation of the Pamplemousse Explosion with Anna Daigneault, I believe our first ever performance together. Good memories:

Flicker State - Alma Sessions EP released

I'm pleased to annonuce the release of the first EP by Flicker State, called the Alma Sessions EP. I'm on drums, Geneviève Clermont is on violin, viola and vocals, and Mikael Tobias (the mastermind!) is on guitar, bass, vocals, electronics, and programming. Snazzy physical copies of the album can be purchased from bandcamp (limited edition of 75) - or you can stream or download it there as well. More shows and awesomeness from this band is planned for the nearish future.

Blast from the past - O: Laundry Room Live

I recently rediscovered a cassette recording of my first - and still possibly my favourite, in a way - band, "O," that we did in my parents' laundry room back in 1999. Anywho, here it is (it's a free download on Bandcamp). Credits and other info are on the Bandcamp page. Enjoy!

Haunted Clockwork Records presents: Summer Solstice Compilation 1 (Free Download)

Here's a really great compilation out of the Haunted Clockwork camp, featuring, among many other things, a previously very limitedly-released track by Corse, "untitled," which appeared on our 3" demo CD from 2008. There are plans for more compilations for the coming solstices, so stay tuned. Oh right, and there's also a *classic* and particularly zany track, "Secret Cheese Spread" by The Pamplemousse Explosion. Good fun.
